From 1987 to 1992, Mario Mansour studied Economics at the University of Montréal obtaining a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. In 1996 he started an MBA in Business Administration and Management at the University of Ottawa. He worked for many years at the Department of Finance Canada as a Tax Policy Analyst. In 2004 he started working for the International Monetary Fund; in 2018 he became the Coordinator of Middle East Technical Assistance Center of IMF (METAC). Prior to joining METAC, he was Deputy Chief of the Tax Policy Division at the IMF, where he coordinated the provision of technical assistance advice in tax policy. Since 2021 he is the Division Chief of fiscal affairs at the IMF. Mario Mansour has over 25 years of experience, has advised on taxation in over 40 countries of all income levels, and published widely on tax policy issues and country experience.
